Home Depot worker fired for wearing ‘under God’ button — South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com

I don’t understand why it took this Home Depot store so many months to react to the button the employee was wearing that supposedly broke company policy. The button was apparently conspicuous enough that a supervisor saw it and commented that they thought it was a good message.

I think this is just another example of companies being afraid of the backlash that could come to them from atheists and others who object to people exercising their freedom of speech. What has happened to us since 9/11 when it seemed like everyone was flying a flag and feeling close to God? Everyone, that is, except for Tom Hanks.

I remember the TV special that he hosted following 9/11 when dozens of the Hollywood elite got before cameras and spoke very patriotically as everyone tried to rally the country in the wake of the terrorist attacks in New York. Good old Tom was reciting part of the Pledge of Allegiance when he came to the phrases “and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, <silence>, indivisible….” Where was “under God” Tom? You left part of it out! The omission shouted out to me and I knew Tom Hanks, like the POTUS today, believes that we are no longer a Christian nation.

And so the persecution of Christianity continues. It won’t stop.
